JAMES WILLSHIRE (piano)

The second concert in the series focuses on two periods - 1890, and 1904-1908. 1890 was Debussy's first foray into sustained piano composition. There are 7 works that were written in that year, three of which will appear this concert. 1904-1908 was likewise a period of sustained piano composition, a period where Debussy experimented with the sounds that a piano could produce, and when he wrote two of his first great works for the instrument, Images 1 and 2.
